Destri is HOME!!!

Destri is HOME!!
We were SOOO excited to bring Destri home last Saturday.  It was a long week up at the Utah Valley NICU!!  We are so thankful she is doing so well and recovered so quickly!  What a strong little girl!!  We just love her! Things are pretty much back to normal.  I can't wait til she meets her big brother!!  Daxon has been with his Dad and hasn't got to see her yet.  He will be home just after the 4th of July.  We sure miss him!  He pretty excited to see her!  She better be ready for lots of hugs and kisses, because Dax isn't stingy in that department!! :)

Just amazed at how much she eats!!  This is in the NICU.
Proud Daddy!

Baby Destri June 20, 2009

Destri Morrill
Born: June 20, 2009 at 11:09 pm
5 lb 13 oz, 18 1/2 "
Destri has sure had  a rough time so far! We had to life flight her to UVRMC in Provo because she was really struggling to breath on her own.  It was pretty hard on us sending her away, but we knew it was best for her.  Brian went up and saw her that same day and saw improvement right away!  I had to stay an extra night in the hospital, because I had some recovering to do.  After Destri was born, Dr. Brown couldn't deliver the placenta because it fell into a bunch of pieces. (Wierd)   So they had to take me to surgery and do a D&C to take out all of the placenta. (Not fun).  Destri was born 3 weeks early, but the Dr and nurses say it's a good thing she came early, because my placenta wasn't giving her what she needed.  My body started having contractions and telling us it was time for her to be here with us.  We are so blessed to have such a strong, beautiful baby girl!!  Although she is needing some help right now, I think she will be just fine and home with us in no time!! She is such a fighter!!  We love her so much.  Thank you everyone for all of your prayers and support!! We couldn't do this without you!!

I love this pic! She had just stretched her legs out to get comfy!

Fishin!!

Fishin!!
Oh, how lucky we are to live minutes away from the Piute Reservoir!! We have gone a few times so far this Summer, and it has been so much fun!  The last time we went, Daxon decided it was warm enough to go for a swim.  We warned him that the ice hasn't been off the lake for very long, and it would be quite cold, but he was determined.  We really weren't prepared for swimming, so he just went in his underwear.  He didn't care!  I swear kids don't even notice cold when they are having fun.  I have to admit that it got pretty hot when the sun came out.  A little swim would have been nice, but not in that cold of water!!! No way I was gettin in there! Dax seemed to enjoy it, and we enjoyed watching him!! Good times! (oh and we caught a few good fish too!)

Daxon's first catch of the summer.
This cracks me up!! In every picture of him reeling in a fish, he is sticking his tongue out. He does this when he is doing most anything.  People say I do this too... It's all about concentration!!

Grandpa came out to fish a little with us too.

I thought he would get in only about to his knees, but we later had to take off his shirt because he got pretty brave!! :)

I just love this kid!!
